Having the mixture of both Near and FAR Infrared is relatively new to the sauna industry. If Near Infrared is good for the skin, then having them facing you makes a lot of sense. FAR Infrared is better when it is behind you and Near Infrared is better when it is in front of you.

The Far Infrared heaters are Carbon Nano Ultra-Low EMF Heaters, and the NEAR Infrared are glass heaters with Visible light, so you will see the heaters glowing. These visible light heaters emit a hotter feel than the FAR infrared heaters, FAR infrared heaters are a gentle heat, so you can lean against them. FAR Infrared is used on the back and sides, and the Near infrared heaters are used for below the sitting bench and on the glass front, facing the user.
